Iranian-American women are powerful icons of strength and cultural fusion. Seven women posed for me with their flag at New York City's annual Iranian-Persian parade in April 2025, and two months later in June 2025, their country is embroiled in a devastating conflict. War has a profound impact on everyone with ties to the region, no matter where they are in the world. Nearly 28,000 Iranians live in New York. The ongoing war's impact on the lives of Iranian Americans is still unclear.
Iranians have deep ancestral roots in an ancient land rich in culture, known as the cradle of civilization. Iranian women in America navigate two distinct cultures. These ladies will face difficulties during wartime as they prioritize the well-being of their family and friends in Iran, who are facing uncertainty, damage, and death. They are not alone in their worries, as Israeli Americans face the opposing side of the 2025 Israeli-Iranian war. People in an empathic functioning society do not embrace war because the statistics have proven the consequences for both sides are devastating.
