Reflections From the Shadows is a collection of color photographs that blend Reflections with the inside and the outside. They are often surreal and seem to merge unusual combinations of surroundings.They are a different way of observing our environments and interiors. They are all photographed as seen without any AI and they are the orgional single image.
Reflections From the Shadows
I began photographing reflections around my house and garden while I was recovering from several illnesses and a serious car accident. My dark nightmares tormented me and I felt as if I was constantly searching for clarity and understanding. Reality did not always seem clear to me. I often felt that when I awoke, that I had died and I was haunting my own house and family. I would wake up, lay in bed and try to remember who and where I was. Silent, afraid to share too much.
These photographs of reflections convey my way of experiencing life at that time. The mixture of the garden blooming and flowing into the house; the vibrant colors from the trees, palms and sky was a ghostly mixture melting into the interiors. The photographs make sense to me and are a metaphor for the way my brain was functioning. Now these photographs ar a festive and sublime way to look at life.
